WHY CHOOSE HYDRONICS
Hydronic heating is the most efficient, luxurious, flexible and exciting form of heating available. With a 1000-year plus history it has a more exciting future than any other central heating system available.
Hydronic heating has been the system of choice in Europe for 1000 years. The early Romans were users of hydronic heating.
Hydronic heating systems use hot water to produce mainly radiated and convected heat. The hot water may be heated by solar, geo thermal, heat pump, gas, electric, solid fuel, oil or any other existing or future fuel or combination of fuels.
Hydronic heating is draught free and does not "burn" the air by heating it to temperatures in excess of 300 degrees centigrade as ducted heating does. It is therefore very suitable for asthmatics and allergy sufferers.
Hydronic heating is considered the premium form of heating because with hydronic heating stratification is minimised. Because of their operating principal warm air heating systems discharge air that has been heated significantly higher than room temperature. In some systems this temperature can be up to 60 degrees centigrade. Because of this high temperature the discharged air rises quickly to the ceiling. The mix of air tends to occur initially at ceiling level and then descends to the lower levels of the room where the comfort level is required. This phenomena is known as stratification. Stratification or "cold 20" occurs when the system is set at 20 degrees centigrade, and because of the stratification common with ducted system the room temperature at the thermostat height may be 20 degrees centigrade but the floor or foot temperature is significantly less than this and the ceiling temperature significantly higher.
Stratification increases running costs and decreases the comfort level experienced.
Hydronic heating is the ultimate heating system.
